The 24,000-square-foot facility, located at 355 Kinoole St. in downtown Hilo, has an asking price of $4.25 million.
The newspaper no longer needs such a large production facility, Publisher David Bock said.
“The newspaper is printed in Kona at West Hawaii Today, so we just have too much space for our current needs,” Bock said. “It’s a huge building.”
Despite the potential sale, Bock said it’s likely the newspaper will stay in its current location.
“We are selling the property but would like to remain a tenant,” Bock said. “We are seeking a buyer who will lease a portion of the space back to the Tribune-Herald.”
